When I got home from work today I took my usual stroll around the garden to see what might have opened or may have leafed out today. In the middle of my inspection I had an aha moment when it dawned on me that today was not only tax day, but was also Bloom Day. I didn't need to worry about the taxes, so I went inside to get my camera. (If you hover over the photos, the plant's name should appear.)
Lest you think everything I've got blooming is some shade of yellow or green, here are a few other colors.
I have had Stauntonia hexaphylla growing around our back deck for nearly 15 years. This is the first time I have ever had blooms on it.
As painful as today may be for some of you, Carol at May Dreams Gardens has made it less so by hosting Garden Bloggers Bloom Day. You should pay her a visit.
That first narcissus looks like Baby Moon. Is your season almost over?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I totally forgot about Bloom Day! Maybe I can quick post something... This is a beautiful time in your garden!
ReplyDeleteSigh. I keep telling myself my turn is coming soon. My very first daffodil opened, a small one from a forced pot, so I don't know the name, but perhaps it's February Gold? If February Daphne blooms in April for us, why not February Gold?
ReplyDeleteWell, your image of Gelsemium has prompted me to add that one to my plant list and I will also give that lime-colored black locust another try (the deer did away with the first two). Time to google small dedicated deer protection systems for small trees.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Nothing wrong with green and yellow.
ReplyDeleteYou always have plants I've never heard of! I need to Google that last plant. My violets are blooming, too. Such easy, cheerful plants. :o)
