These are lotus flowers not waterlilies aren't they? I don't know much about Lotus flowers, but I find the structure at the centre of the flower intriguing. The stamens seem to embrace the central portion of the flower. Definitely sexy!
Thank you everyone for taking to the time to leave such nice comments. These were blooming in the Japanese Garden pond at work this past week, and I hope they will keep going a bit longer. They are Nelumbo nucifera 'Hindu', and not only are they visually beautiful, they have a nice mild anise fragrance as well.
