What Sexy Is

When you think about it, a flower's sole purpose is procreation, or to use another word, sex. But some flowers are sexier than others.

  1. Lovely. I just visited the water lilies at Longwood, one of my favorite parts of that garden.

  6. Lovely photographs. It is funny that flowers are sexy to people, even though we are not pollinators.

  8. These are lotus flowers not waterlilies aren't they? I don't know much about Lotus flowers, but I find the structure at the centre of the flower intriguing. The stamens seem to embrace the central portion of the flower. Definitely sexy!

  12. Thank you everyone for taking to the time to leave such nice comments. These were blooming in the Japanese Garden pond at work this past week, and I hope they will keep going a bit longer. They are Nelumbo nucifera 'Hindu', and not only are they visually beautiful, they have a nice mild anise fragrance as well.
